I have been teaching since 1995. I started at the summer art and craft school in Mont Laurier were on the average i had ten students and i did this for eighteen years. I also started my own school ( Stanley Lewis Academy ) were i thought stone carving from beginners to advanced classes. Here i would annually organise shows of my students works. The school closed for technical reasons ( we had to move ) in 2012. and i transfered everything to my own studio, were on a more private bases i continue teaching to this day. I was hired by the Native Friendship Center in Montreal to found a studio, supervise it and also teach stone carving to young people living off the street. It was supposed to be for one year and finally i did it for 6 years. I also started teaching at the summer art and craft school in Coaticook in 2014.Regularly i am called upon to give classes in stone carving to young students at different schools. I also give organised group classes to adults.
All in all i think i have initiated over three hundred students if not more and today i have some of my students who have their own schools and some during shows; were they participate; win jurried prizes and even expose abroad in iternational venues.
MY FIRST PLEASURE IS CREATING SCULPTED WORKS OF ART IN STONE AND MY SECOND IS TEACHING THIS ANCIENT ART.
